Ad rotation is a script and database-driven web site function where client ads are rotated into ad spaces or slots on a Web site. Banners, buttons and text links can all be rotated.
Ad management scripts and software usually include features such as ad priority control, keyword functionality, media management, ad clicks and ad views management, timed delivery, etc.
Ad rotation can be executed and managed through each individual web site or through a centralized server-based facility for a network of web sites.
Note: We have developed our own centrally controlled
Ad Management software for displaying and managing text, box and banner ads contained in our website network. To see these scripts in action, just surf around this web site and our sister site,
www.Info-Storm.com. We use a combination of
static ads, keyword-driven ads, timed delivery and
registered links . Most of our ads are text links because of the search engine ranking benefits. However, we also use targeted banner ads. Our software (written in PERL 5 and Java) allows me to track ad campaigns, clicks, views, inventory, ad cycles, etc.
