IP Spoofing
An unethical technique of reporting an inaccurate IP address when connecting to web sites. IP spoofing is also used by unethical search engine marketers to redirect or trick the search engines into indexing a text only version of the site that’s optimized for ranking purposes. Spoofing can also involve redirecting surfers that get caught in trap links set up by the webmaster.
